Rowie Kirby-Straker

Rowie Kirby-Straker is a Ph.D. Communication student studying Persuasion and Socal Influence. She received a B.Sc. in Environmental Management in 1997 from Lake Erie College in Ohio, and her M.A. in Communication and Development in 2002 from Ohio University. Rowie worked in the field of environmental communication in her home country St. Vincent and the Grenadines for more than 15 years. Her research interests include, perception and communication of impersonal risks; role of emotion in risk perception, communication, and information seeking; and the effectiveness of children as risk communicators.
